Starpack is the premier UK annual scheme recognising innovation in packaging design and technology. Run by IOP: The Packaging Society, Starpack constitutes the UK packaging industry's most prestigious awards, aiming to help raise packaging standards in the UK by rewarding and encouraging creativity. They are considered an integral part of the packaging industry, and the culmination of the Awards at the annual Packaging Industry Dinner is a highlight of the packaging industry calendar. This year the dinner will be held on the 21 May, 2009 at the Sheraton Park Lane Hotel in London.The Starpack Industry Awards 2008 form part of the Starpack Summit 2008 - a day long series of events including a high-level strategic business conference and the schools & student awards presentations, all taking place at the prestigious London headquarters of IOM3. 2009 will see the repeat of this highly successful day of packaging. The 2009 Starpack Packaging Summit - "Creating Consumer and Business Confidence Through Innovation" will look at how successful innovative developments can help create business opportunties in the fact of the economic downturn.  Starpack 2008 Gold Winners The Starpack Industry Awards 2008 formed part of the newly launched Starpack Summit 2008 which created a day long series of events including a high-level strategic business conference and the schools & student awards presentations, all taking place at the prestigious London headquarters of IOM3. The Starpack Summit seminar programme - The Packaging Dilemma The Consumer Challenge concentrated on the role of packaging in society through the eyes of major brand owners and retailers; designers and packaging experts; and importantly environmental organisations and consumer groups. This was an opportunity to hear key speakers talk about the most pressing issues of the day. The Starpack Summit culminated in the annual industry awards presentation and gala dinner at the Caf้ Royal in London's West End. Details of this years Starpack award winners are given below.
